Andy Ireland joined the KCCI Sports Team in January of 2008.

Andy first started at KCCI part-time in the engineering department while in college. While working in engineering, he also served as an intern in the sports department helping shoot highlights for high school and college football. He evenutally moved on to become a full-time news/sports photographer before becoming a sports reporter.

Andy graduated from Grand View College in 2007 with majors in both Broadcasting and Mass Communications. He transfered to Grand View from Marshalltown Community College where he played baseball for the Tigers for 2 years. He grew up in southeast Iowa, attending Fort Madison High School.

Andy has traveled all over the country and the world for KCCI. He followed the Drake men's basketball team to the NCAA tournament in Tampa, Zach Johnson to the Masters in Augusta, GA, and spent a month in Beijing, China, covering Shawn Johnson and Lolo Jones at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

In his spare time, Andy loves to do anything athletic including running, playing as much golf as possible and hockey when he can.
