Geoff Greenwood joined the KCCI team in the late 1980s. Geoff is an experienced reporter who's background includes investigative, police and courts, and general assignment reporting.

His reporting has earned a regional Emmy award, and first place awards from The Associated Press and Iowa Broadcast News Association in investigative, breaking news, documentary and general assignment reporting. Geoff has also appeared as a guest journalist on several national talk shows.

Geoff is a member of the Investigative Reporters and Editors organization. He is active with the Iowa Freedom Information Council, fighting for open government and coordinating media coverage for all central Iowa trials. He also teaches media relations and open records classes to law enforcement.

Geoff's most memorable story was when he covered an Iowa National Guard unit in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Shield in 1991.

In his spare time he's a Cub Scout leader, a die hard Cubs fan, and his interests include home improvement projects, softball and storm chasing.

Geoff grew up in suburban Chicago and came to Central Iowa as a Drake student, where he graduated with a degree in Journalism. Geoff is married with two children.
