Laurie Kinney

Laurie has been a correspondent for Hearst-Argyle Television's Washington D.C. bureau since 2000.

Since then she's had the opportunity to interview major newsmakers, including President George W. Bush and Laura Bush, as well as Vice President Dick Cheney, and to cover a wide range of events including the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, presidential elections, and the funeral of Pope John Paul II in Rome.

Before coming to Washington, Laurie was a weekend anchor and reporter at Hearst-Argyle's KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, N.M. She is originally from the New York area and graduated from Amherst College, Amherst, Mass., with a degree in French.

Laurie and her husband, Michael, live in Arlington, Va. They enjoy traveling, cooking, reading and biking.
