Fox News Feels Wrath Of DNC Protesters

Reporter Besieged With F-Bombs On Live Air

Fox News Channel isn't always getting fair and balanced treatment from protesters at the Democratic National Convention this week in Denver.

In at least two instances this week, Fox News -- which is often accused of conservative leanings despite its "Fair and Balanced" claim -- was under siege by DNC protesters.

On Sunday, Fox reporter Griff Jenkins was doing a live shot of what he described as a 1,000-person antiwar protest march, when things went awry.

In the shot, which is still getting heavy play on YouTube.com, Jenkins attempts to ask some of the marchers what they were protesting. He did get one response not tainted with profanities -- "Stop the torture, stop the war" -- among a few others with F-words.

Jenkins and his photographer were then surrounded with protesters chanting in unison, "F--- Fox News."

Several of the F-word chants made it on the live air before an anchor resumed coverage at Fox News' studios.

Then on Monday, Fox News contributor and conservative columnist Michelle Malkin became a target at the "Recreate '68" protest in front of the Denver Mint -- the protest was an effort to recreate the DNC riots in Chicago from four decades ago.

On her blog, Malkin called the protest "an abysmal failure."

"The nostalgic, Marx-adoring organizers of 'Recreate '68' seem to have mustered no more than, oh, 68 bodies," Malkin wrote. "Their presence here is dwarfed by the massive show of police, press, and camera-toting looky-loos."

Like the Jenkins fiasco, a video of the event also made it onto YouTube, where 9/11 conspiracy proponent Alex Jones confronts Malkin. In the video, Malkin asks Jones to turn his camera around because she's working, to which he replies, "You're working for the all elitist and powerful."

Jones then turned the attention to Fox's coverage of the 9/11 tragedy.

"The majority of victims' families know that 9/11 is an inside job, Michelle," Jones said, while another unidentified man asked, "So why do you keep disrespecting them on (Fox News)?"

The DNC ends Thursday with Sen. Barack Obama's acceptance of the Democratic presidential nomination at Denver's Invesco Field.
