KCCI Dominates July Ratings
KCCI Increases Lead At 6pm And 10pm
DES MOINES, Iowa -- According to July 2008 Nielsen Media Research, KCCI - the Hearst-Argyle Station and CBS Affiliate in Des Moines – dominated the July news ratings, increasing its lead at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
In fact, in head-to-head comparisons, KCCI newscasts were again watched in more Central Iowa homes than all its competitors’ newscasts combined.

A rating is the percentage of all TV households in the Des Moines/Ames DMA (Designated Market Area) tuned to a particular program.
A share is the percentage of all TV households using television in the Des Moines/Ames DMA tuned to a particular program.
“We’re particularly pleased that our two main newscasts at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. are gaining even more viewership, and that Central Iowans are overwhelmingly choosing News Channel 8 as their most trusted source for news,” says KCCI President and General Manager Paul Fredericksen.
